Volcanic Eruptions; What's Going On?

The whole world stopped when we saw and heard about the devastating volcano eruption in Hawaii; on the island of Kilauea to be more exact. Then, out of nowhere, we become grieved watching the volcano in Guatemala erupting and killing many people. So what’s really going on? you may ask. What if I told you that these eruptions are in the Bible. Let’s take a look.

First, lets look at what a volcano is to get a better idea (there is an image diagram on the bottom). A Volcano is a mountain or hill that has a crater or vent through which lava, hot vapor, and gas are being erupted. Now, how does the eruption process happen? Scientists say Magma collects in the magma chamber and rises to the surface, as a column of fire, due to the pressure from the solid rocks around it. Then bubbles form from the dissolved gases in the magma and exert pressure, causing the magma to rise to the surface in an explosive eruption which makes a pillar cloud form. There are 2 key things to remember from the explanation; 1)fire 2)column of smoke. Now let’s go to the verse.

Joel 2 vs. 30 says "And I will cause wonders in the heavens and on the earth- blood and fire and columns of smoke". So let's break this verse down. It says "wonders in the heavens" so what are these wonders? well they have actually already passed recently in 2014-2015 remember the Red Blood Moons? well these were those signs but that's a whole other subject. Then it says "wonders on the earth" which are volcanic eruptions. Jesus said there would be earthquakes in diverse places (Matt. 24) as birthing pains. An earthquake can cause a volcanic eruption, especially in the geographical area called the Ring of Fire in which Guatemala and Hawaii are in. Joel said “fire” and “Columns of Smoke” well lets go back to the description. The magma inside a volcano goes up a “column of FIRE” then scientists say a “COLUMN OF SMOKE” appears upon eruption. How the saying goes; Joel hit it right on the head! This being said, please continue to pray for the lives impacted by Kilauea’s and Guatemala’s volcanic eruptions.
